Congrats Caitlin & Chris!

This past weekend we crossed the country and had such an amazing time celebrating Caitlin & Chris! They had a gorgeous wedding in Santa Monica complete with the most amazing personal vows and a photo booth.  I think they should have renamed Santa Monica Santa Caitlin for the weekend, because every corner I turned I recognized someone there for her wedding! It was so much fun! Seeing one of your best friends on the earth look so happy is one of the greatest feelings in the world. They were both glowing. Love is kinda awesome!

Over time my closest friends have moved near and far, so when we get to all spend time in one place we take full advantage. See proof below:

These two are getting married this Saturday! Congrats congrats congrats Caitlin & Chris. I just went searching for a photo to post of you two and this gem came up. Amazing. 

Tristan and I are California bound tonight- T for the weekend and I'm staying a few days longer for work.  Looking forward to some Coffee Bean, sunshine, spending time with my favs and CAITLIN & CHRIS' WEDDING!!!!!  

The Painted Girls

This book is an absolute must-read! I loved every page and am keeping my fingers very crossed they turn it into a movie. I loved it SO much that in the acknowledgments I saw the title of the documentary that inspired the author and promptly set to work on finding it. GOOD NEWS PEEPS! It lives on you-tube.

SO…do yourself a favor, and buy The Painted Girls by Cathy marie Buchanan and then watch this documentary after!

Tristan and I will definitely be making a weekend trip to DC soon, to see the artwork that inspired the documentary that inspired the book in person!

A Bouquet Commission

I recently took on the really fun commission of making a bridal bouquet for a wedding in North Carolina.  I had made the  bouquets for my wedding, and the bride loved the concept of something to last forever.  She wanted to keep her color palette limited to whites, grays and silvers and sent me some family heirlooms as well as a beautiful base that she thrifted.  Working on this was an absolute pleasure. I do SO much work digitally that sometimes you just wanna whip out the crazy glue and go wild.  And I did…The result is below! I hope she likes it!!

Children's Book Love

Children's books are one of my favorite things in the universe, and recently, as I work towards my publishing goals I came across some I had to share! Enjoy!

6 months folks, 6 months!

Today TRISTAN & I ARE MARRIED FOR 6 MONTHS! We have our album now, and ordered some prints of pictures. Our apartment is slowly becoming a shrine to October 6, 2012 and I'm totally ok with it. The photo above of a print I made using photos from our photo booth. It was fun to make (and the world's biggest file) and I'm really happy with how it came out.  The embroidery to the right of the print was made by my friend Jessie. Says "till death do us part" and it's day of the dead style replicas of Tristan & myself. Pretty awesome!!
