Tristan's sister and brother-in-law welcomed a beautiful baby girl yesterday, making us the world's proudest aunt and uncle! (besides Devin & Logan, obviously :-) )

Don't judge a book by it's cover…

Well, why not? I never ever ever ever understood that phrase. Perhaps this is because I went to art school and would LOVE to illustrate a book cover. Hmmmm.

Either way, I did judge Arcadia by Lauren Groff by it's cover and I'm so glad that I did. I loved this book. I loved the descriptive tone and interesting story and I loved the characters. It's the story of growing up in a commune and then moving out to the "real" world. I hope they make it into the movie and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a good read.
Next up for me is Heartburn by Nora Ephron because I never read it, and I'm still in mourning.

Road Trip Travel

Last weekend Tristan & I went to the Berkshires on a surprise weekend I planned for his 30th.  Summers in NYC can be HOT and HOTTER and well, HOT, so escaping somewhere a tad bit cooler with a pool and pretty views was a nice getaway. We stayed at a quirky inn called Porches that was really cool. They have a fire pit every night for s'mores, lunchbox delivery room service, and rooms with little porches attached. We also spent sometime in an awesome art museum, Mass MoCA. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the weekend…

City Of Brotherly Love & Instagrams

Tristan & I recently took a weekend trip to Philadelphia! My childhood friend Rachel was getting married there, and we thought we'd make a little vacation out of it.  We had a really good time. Everything from the wedding (which was beautiful and SO fun) to a fancy schmancy dinner at Morimoto's was great. Turns out, Philly is an hour and a half train ride from NYC- not bad!!! It's a nice little city filled with beautiful street art, mosaics, and murals.

We did some shopping on South Street (got an AWESOME tin lamp that I'll have to post a photo of soon), Tristan had a Philly cheesesteak (when in Rome..or, um, Philadelphia) and we even had a few hours laying rooftop poolside. New York summers can be hot and sticky, and it was a great getaway for a few days. Here are some instagrams from our trip:
