Let the Wild Rumpus Start!!!

with some Where the Wild Things Are themed garland. Here's a super easy tutorial so you can make your own:

*****PLEASE NOTE: it is against the law to photocopy from books. In order to make mine (and other themed decor I have in mind) i bought two copies of the paperback. the book is about $9.00 and if you google coupon codes you can easily get at least 20% off.
STEP 1:
select the images you want to take from the book and loosly cut them out and mount on clear contact paper. Back as shown with graph paper (incase the images turn around, they'll have a nice clean but interesting backing)

STEP 2: loosly cut out characters (it doesn't have to be perfect- it is WILD don't forget!)
and also with the extra scraps use a large hole puncher to cut circles. I did this with both the book pages and the graph paper for variety.

STEP 3: gather ribbon, sequins, fishing wire, colored wire, fabric or any other random bits that you'd like

STEP 4: hole punch where needed and string together! since my garland is being hung near my (faux)fireplace, I used push pins to assist with it sticking into the wood.

hope you enjoyed this tutorial (it's my first!!!)
and i hope you go ahead and make some garland! if so PLEASE send me an image of it to margot531(at)gmail(dot)com or if you blog it, send me a link!
have a wild weekend!
